PRINTING AND VIEWING INSTRUCTIONS |
^TOP |
After you download the file you will have to "unstuff" it. This requires Stuffit Expander from Alladin Systems (if you don't already have a version of it on your computer) which will extract the PDF to the same directory as the .sit file. You can then browse the book using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
For example, to print a chapter go to File>Print. You will be prompted to print either the whole document (the book from cover to cover) or a range of pages.
**** IMPORTANT NOTE****
When printing specific pages, ignore the original page numbers scanned as PDF
pages. Only use the page numbers (at the bottom) that
Acrobat itself uses to navigate the book. Your computer
will print the page numbers provided by Acrobat, not the
numbers printed on the actual page.

KNOWN TECHNICAL ISSUES |
^TOP |
ISSUE:
MAC users may experience intermitent problems when uncompressing the .sit archive into the PDF file. Occassionally the PDF icon for the uncompressed file will appear as a "broken" Stuffit archive. This is not the case however, it is simply a small glitch between Stuffit Expander and OS 9.x .
SOLUTION I:
Download the latest version of Stuffit Expander from the Alladin Systems web site
SOLUTION II:
Simply delete the "broken" file and double click the .sit archive that it was uncompressed from. This will run Stuffit Expander again and uncompress the PDF to the same directory where the .sit is located. BE SURE TO DELETE THE "BROKEN" FILE before you do this or the PDF will decompress with a ".1" extension on the file name confusing Acrobat Reader further.
